Hi, my name is Nancy Parker.  I graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music education. I have a Masters in Elementary Education, from S.C. State University. I began my teaching career in 1976, in Orangeburg School District 3 and have been in this district ever since. I taught at the high school level for 26 years and for the past 13 years I've taught at the elementary level. Once leaving the high school, I began teaching music at Holly Hill Elementary and then in 2012, I began teaching at St. James Gaillard Elementary, as well as Holly Hill Elementary. This will be my 40th year teaching music, in this district!!

My name is Joyce Smith and I am the art teacher of St. James Gailliard Elementary School. I earned my BA degree in Art Education from Claflin University in 2010.

As early as I can remember, art has always been my passion. Thankfully, I had supportive art teachers in my youth who encouraged me and instilled in me the drive to always keep improving and strive for excellence. I became a teacher so that I could help nurture and develop the next generation in possibly gaining that same passion for the arts. I hope to give the students at St. James Gaillard Elementary School an outlet for creative expression and expose them to different art forms and techniques in an environment that they will feel supported and comfortable in.
