Hi, I'm Sierra Brown. I'm 29 years old and the mother of 5 yrs. old twin girls, Jordyn and Jadyn. I reside in Holly Hill, SC. I received my undergraduate degree from Claflin University in Early Childhood Education. Currently, I’m pursing my master’s degree in teaching. I am entering my 8th year of teaching at St. James Gaillard Elementary School.
It has always been a desire of mine to teach and serve in Orangeburg County Consolidated School District 3. I've always wanted to give the students here the same quality education that I received in the district. Educating is not only what I love and enjoy doing, but what I feel I was destined to do. I enjoy teaching my students and learning from them as well.
“Mediocre teachers tell. Good teachers explain. Superior teachers demonstrate. Great teachers inspire...” William Arthur Ward. I believe teaching should inspire children to dig deeper and to commit to understanding all content through discovery with the faith of creating a better tomorrow, not only for themselves, but also for their community and family. Inspiring students to become lifelong learners ensures that the academic torch never dims.
I look forward to another wonderful year at St. James Gaillard Elementary School this year!
Hi! My name is Barbarette Sellers! I was born and reared in Holly Hill, South Carolina, but I currently live in Santee South Carolina. I have one daughter, Jasmine. I graduated from Holly Hill-Roberts High School. After high school, I attended Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. After graduating from Limestone, I decided to move back home where I became a part of the Orangeburg County Consolidated School District Three Family as a Teacher’s Assistant. During this time, I decided to further my education by pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education from South Carolina State University. I wanted to be a teacher.
I have been working with children since 1992 as a teacher’s assistant and a teacher. The opportunity to work with children and their families is the best and most rewarding experience that I have ever had. There is nothing more exciting than witnessing a young child learn something new, and knowing that you have been a driving force behind that growth.
I am blessed and thankful for the opportunity to work in such a nurturing environment where children can learn and experience new challenges that will help them become productive citizens of our communities, state and our nation.
